On 27 May 2026, representatives of county government offices and the municipalities participating in the LIFE IP HungAIRy project met for the fourth time to exchange experiences and discuss current challenges related to the revision of their air quality

The LIFE IP HungAIRy project was launched in 2019 as an eight-year programme supported by the European Union, with the overarching goal of improving air quality across Hungary.

In recent years, Debrecen has taken a strategic and forward-looking approach to improving air quality.

Today, a few monitoring stations alone are no longer sufficient to gain a precise understanding of air quality. There is an increasing need for detailed, real-time information.

Improving air quality in Hungary is not solely the responsibility of large cities.

Many households are still using heating systems, making energy efficiency a highly relevant topic.

The building energy pilot of the HungAIRy LIFE Integrated Project in Pécs has reached an important milestone: attention is now turning to the city’s prefabricated apartment buildings.

On 14 November 2025, the Békéscsaba partner of the LIFE IP HungAIRy project held a press event combined with a ceremonial tree planting, attended by Dr. Anikó Raisz, State Secretary for Environmental Affairs at the Ministry of Energy.

From October 15–17, 2025, the partner network of the HungAIRy LIFE Integrated Project gathered for the 14th time to present the progress of their individual actions, share experiences, achievements, and discuss any possible delays.
