Improving air quality is a common goal for all municipalities, but selecting the right measures is far from simple. A new bypass road, changes to traffic management or the modernisation of residential heating can all contribute to reducing air pollution, but their impact may vary from one municipality to another.
Improving air quality is a complex task that requires coordinated efforts across a wide range of areas, from accurate measurement and modelling data through local measures to raising public awareness.
On September 9–10, 2025, the ’2nd ATMOSYS Community Workshop’ was held in Budapest, organized by the LIFE IP HungAIRy project, in collaboration with its partner VITO (Flemish Institute for Technological Research) and HungaroMet.
On 2 March 2023, Zita Ferenczi, air chemistry expert from the National Meteorological Service, presented the HungAIRy LIFE integrated project’s efforts in modelling the impact of air quality measures at the ATMOSYS workshop in Rome, Italy.
